Ocean and Mountains: the Three of Wands

So off I go. Leaving in the morning for a road trip. An eight hour drive through the mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Then a ferry ride for two hours to Vancouver Island. Then a four-hour train ride to the North Island. And there I'll be, living in a tent by the sea for a week. Blind guys don't get to camp out much, and this is pretty tame camping, on a friend's 'back forty', but oh my, it's going to feel good.

So you may not hear from me for a week or two - not sure what kind of computer access I'll have. Obviously not much in a tent, but not sure about the rest of it.

The old classic Ryder deck has a lovely picture for the Three of Wands. A man is standing, holding a staff, looking out over a sunset (or sunrise) ocean. It suggests that he's made an investment, and is confidently waiting for his ship to come in. And of course, camping by the sea I'll be looking out across the Strait of Juan de Fuca, looking east to the huge snow-topped mountains of the West Coast, hopefully as happy and confident as the guy in the Ryder deck.

I'm very tired and a little incoherent, so I'm going to stop before I'm just writing nonsense.

wish me well
I'll be back here around May 12.
